Coppabella Hills - Approved
The beauty of the unique landmark of the Coppabella Hills, between the villages of Binalong, Bookham and Jugiong, will be forever defaced should the ‘approved’ Coppabella Industrial Wind Turbine project proceed.
This Industrial Wind Turbine site will extend approx 12 kms east to west and 10 kms north causing irreversible environmental damage to the fragile Coppabella Hills.
Bookham - Planned
The proposed Bookham Wind Farm is located on Ngunnawal Country, around 30km west of Yass.
The proposed project currently comprises 94 wind turbines and battery storage, producing enough electricity to power around 410,000 NSW homes and prevent 410,000 tonnes of emissions annually.
Conroy's Gap - Approved
Conroy's Gap Wind Farm is a planned 30MW onshore wind power project located approximately 17km west of Yass, New South Wales, Australia.
The project, which is currently at the announced stage, is expected to consist of 15 turbines, each with a 2MW nameplate capacity.
It is planned to be developed in a single phase, with construction likely to commence in 2028 and commercial operation expected by 2029.
The project is expected to generate 92,000MWh of electricity annually, sufficient to power 11,500 households, and offset 89,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per year.
Bendenine - Planned
Wind Prospect is undertaking feasibility studies for the development of a wind farm located about 20 km northwest of Yass, between the townships of Binalong and Bowning. The Bendenine Wind Farm Project is in the early stages, with initial environmental, social and technical assessments underway.
The Project is expected to include up to approximately 90 turbines, subject to feasibility assessments and ongoing community consultation, as well as the incorporation of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
